Police: Man killed for jumping on bed

Police in Berks County say a man was killed after jumping on a bed Tuesday.

The incident happened on the 1300 block of Parkside Drive South in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

According to police, Somchai Chanthara startled a sleeping Mathew Soumpholphakdy, by jumping on the bed.

They say that Soumpholphakdy pulled out a gun he keeps under his pillow, and meant to put a scare into Chanthara.

The two struggled, and the gun accidentally went off, killing Chanthara.

Soumpholphakdy is charged with involuntary manslaughter.
