NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a man who punched a woman and then assaulted an officer in North Philadelphia.
At approximately 2:19 a.m. Thursday, a 25th district officer saw a fight between a man and a woman near the 'Set It Off' bar at 2nd and Cambria streets.
Police say the man punched the woman several times in the face.
An arriving officer went over to aid the woman and was punched in the face by the suspect.
The man fled the scene. The officer gave pursuit, but lost sight of the suspect.
The officer suffered several cuts to his right fingers, left elbow, left knee and upper lip.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s, wearing a striped Polo shirt and black shorts.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
