Police are investigating after an Action News viewer submitted video of a school bus being driven through flood waters in Chester County.

The video shows what is believed to be a Coatesville Area School bus driving along Mortonville Road in East Fallowfield on Wednesday afternoon

The person who shot the video says there were telephone poles lying in the roadway, but they weren't visible because of the murky flood water.

"He asked if I could get through and we said, 'No!' and he said, 'What's up at the bend' and we said, 'Its probably going to get worse because it gets lower and he said, 'I can make it,'" said Liz Rach.

Rach is the woman behind the camera. She and her husband feared the worst when the driver proceeded despite their warnings.

Rach says a telephone pole and logs were bobbing in the water which was two or three feet deep. She felt compelled to record the driver.

"I didn't really think he was going to make it. I thought he was going to drive a bit and say that's enough and drive back," said Rach.

Rach posted the video on Facebook at the urging of parents and friends. She says they are outraged.

East Fallowfield police are now investigating. The department posted a link on its Facebook page and detectives are urging anyone who may have had a child on the bus to come forward.

At this point detectives say it's unclear which school district is involved.

Rach and her husband say the bus did have a sign taped in the window that said 'Coatesville Area School District.'

Action News has made nearly a dozen calls to the Coatesville Area School District and have not received a call back.

We did speak to the Krapf Bus Company which provides much of the school bus transportation in the area and a spokesperson tells Action News he doesn't believe it was the company's bus.
