ABC News got a look inside the elaborate passageway that Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman used to try to evade authorities before he was caught Friday, ending his six months on the run.

Inside the house where Guzman was staying in the city of Los Mochis, ABC News got a look inside the hidden passageway behind a bathroom mirror that led to an escape tunnel.

ABC News' Matt Gutman explored the narrow, dark and damp tunnel -- trudging through the water at the bottom -- that Guzman and his lieutenant followed from the hideaway house to a manhole cover before they were taken into custody.

ABC News also walked through the house where Guzman stayed, which was marked by massive holes in the concrete where bullets were sprayed during a raid early Friday.

In Guzman's bedroom, ABC News found a king-sized bed, a couch with medicine and a walk-in closet.
