CHARLESTON, S.C. (WPVI) -- A South Carolina family was flooded out of their home by Hurricane Matthew.
But on Wednesday morning they're not thinking so much of all they've lost, as much as something incredible they have gained.
And that's the moment little Gracie Tynch heard for the very first time.
She was born deaf.
Last month, she had a cochlear implant surgically implanted.
The hurricane nearly prevented them from returning to have the implants turned on.
But they finally made the drive.
FEMA is assessing the damage to the home.
