Sprinkler system malfunction prompts nursing home evacuation in Quakertown

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A sprinkler system malfunction forced the evacuation of a Quakertown, Bucks County, nursing home.

It happened at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Independence Nursing Home on the 1600 block of Park Avenue.

Officials say 110 residents were taken to an adjacent facility, many of them needing canes or wheelchairs.

No one was hurt.
