PRINCETON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Dozens of current students and alumni staged a singing protest at the Westminster Choir College.

The protest is in response to a recent study by Rider University into consolidating the college into one campus at Rider in Lawrence.

Those protesting the decision say the one-campus model would destroy the strong traditions and history associated with the Princeton campus.

"This campus has such history attached to it, so culturally importance, both for the history of music education in the 20th century and this country, as well as for the Princeton community at large," said Jonathan Lakeland, Alumnus. "And we view any closure of this campus as essentially a death sentence for the school."

University officials say no decisions have been made following the study.
