Suspect being chased by police jumps into Schuylkill River

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A man being chased by police jumped into the Schuylkill River in Montgomery County, authorities say.

Action News is told officers were chasing a wanted suspect on foot when he jumped into the river near Haws Avenue Bridge in Norristown around 3 p.m. Monday.

A water rescue was conducted. The man was found and taken into custody.

It is not clear what crime the man is suspected of committing.
