KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A 17-year-old suspect was quickly taken into custody after a shooting in Philadelphia's Kensington section.

It happened around 7:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Tulip Street.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, was shot in the neck and back.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Police say the victim and suspect knew each other.

The two were arguing about a previous fight that the victim had with the suspect's brother, police say.

According to police, the suspect then pulled out a handgun. He and the victim struggled and the gun was fired.

The suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle.

Police recovered the automatic handgun and a gold colored BMX bike at a property that the suspect left the items.

The suspect was taken into custody after police observed him at B and Gurney Streets.

Witnesses were brought to the location and positively identified the suspect.

Police are investigating.
