OLNEY (WPVI) -- Police have charged a teenager in the double stabbing inside an Olney home filled with cats and debris.

18-year-old Anthony Waters is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, Aggravated and Simple Assault; Robbery, Burglary, Theft and related charges.

On Wednesday, at approximately 4:47 a.m., police were called to the 5900 block of North 4th Street for the report of a stabbing and burglary.

When they arrived, police found a 71-year-old woman unconscious on her neighbor's porch, having been stabbed at least 15 to 20 times from her neck down to her feet.

Authorities found a 54-year-old man lying near the living room suffering from stab wounds to his abdomen.

Both victims, who police describe as longtime roommates, were rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

Upon arrival, officers noticed a young man, later identified as neighbor Anthony Waters, hosing down the female victim. He was transported to police headquarters for questioning.

"This neighbor had a hose in his hand, not only hosing down the blood but also hosing down the 71-year-old bloody female. From the first officers on the scene, they say he was actually squirting the hose on the female, which isn't good," said Chief Inspector Scott Small, Philadelphia Police.

Police determined Waters had entered the victims' home through an unlocked rear door with the intention of stealing the woman's car keys so he could sell her car.

According to police, the rear door was propped open by a box of kittens.

Authorities say Waters stabbed both victims after he was surprised they were home.

Police said the investigation was being hampered by excessive trash and debris throughout the home.

The chief police inspector at the scene said conditions in the home suggested one of the worst cases of hoarding he had ever seen.

Furniture was piled up outside the front and back of the home. The Pennsylvania SPCA was on scene Wednesday collecting cats, that could be seen going in and out of the home.

Nearby residents say the woman had a troubled relationship with many of her neighbors - her house just being one of the issues. However, they say the woman and her roommate seemed to get along.
