Texas man gets the gift of sound

HOUSTON, Tex. (WPVI) -- A Houston man is enjoying an early Christmas gift, a gift that many of us take for granted.

Someone stole David Auer's hearing aids.

He couldn't afford new ones, so he was living in a muted world, mainly communicating through sign language.

The miracle-ear foundation stepped up to help him.

They fitted him with new state-of-the-art hearing aids.

Auer says the best part of the gift was when he heard classic rock music again.

Something he hadn't been able to enjoy in a long time.
