A top Delaware County official has resigned in the wake of hit-and-run allegations.

MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- A top Delaware County official has resigned in the wake of hit-and-run allegations.

Police say Ed Truitt, the county's director of emergency services, rear-ended another driver in Middletown Township on September 29th and left the scene of the accident.

Truitt was issued traffic citations at the time.

Action News has learned Truitt resigned from his post Monday.
