Tree falls on man in New Jersey at South Mountain Reservation

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (WPVI) -- A man was injured when a tree fell on him while he was walking at South Mountain Reservation.

On Thursday afternoon, a 51-year-old man from South Orange, was walking near Painter's Point with a woman when he was hit by the tree.

The 911 caller reported to police a strong gust of wind before tree fell over.

He was airlifted to University Hospital in Newark with injuries to his face and back, and is in fair condition.
