GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- Police in Philadelphia say a 17-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot in the head during a robbery in the city's Germantown section.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says the victim was robbed at gunpoint by an unidentified assailant around 8:20 p.m. Monday while he was sitting in the pavilion area of Fernhill Park.

The suspect stole the boy's wallet and cellphone before opening fire. The victim ran about a half block before collapsing on Apsley Street, where he was found by first responders.

The teen was rushed to Temple University Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to his head and hip.

No arrests have been made. Police are looking for a white minivan in connection with the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing.
