Three people were shot to death inside a Montgomery County home, while a child was reportedly inside.

HATFIELD, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities in Montgomery County have identified the victims in an apparent murder-suicide that left three people dead Sunday night.

The coroner's office said Tuesday that 48-year-old Gretchen Viglione and her son, 28-year-old Robert Peploe, were killed in the shooting inside a Hatfield home.

The coroner's office says the home's owner, 48-year-old Paul Marshall, shot Viglione once in the head then he shot Peploe multiple times before putting the barrel end of a semi-automatic rifle in his mouth and killing himself.

Authorities say the three lived together and that Viglione was Marshall's girlfriend. They're not saying what prompted Marshall's actions.

Marshall's 27-year-old daughter escaped unhurt with her 4-year-old child.

Steve Haire says he spoke to his next door neighbors almost every day, including Sunday morning, and there appeared to be no signs of trouble.

Haire tells Action News, "Something happened around 12:00, we didn't hear no gunshots or nothing it was like a normal night."

Authorities say they found a gun in Marshall's possession, along with shell casings and other evidence at the scene.
