Waiter comes to the aid of man being robbed in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A Washington DC waiter rushed to help a mugging victim.

And his heroic actions were caught on cell phone video.

Police say an older man was walking along Massachusetts Avenue Sunday evening, when the suspect tackled him to the ground.

A waiter from a nearby bar sprinted across the street, kicked the suspect, and then wrestled him for a knife.

"I'm sure the old man, the older gentleman would have walked away feeling even worse had somebody not come to his aid. In this case that since somebody did come to his aid, at least it allows him to look to the fact that there's still good in the world," said Jim Friesem.

Police say they are testing the knife and a shirt left behind for fingerprints and DNA.
