Water main break at Kensington construction site

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A water main break at a construction site has caused problems in Philadelphia's Kensington section.

Crews were called out to the 1300 block of American Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday for a busted 6-inch water main.

The break quickly filled a large construction hole, but caused no damage to nearby homes.

Four houses and one pizza shop will be without water into Tuesday morning.

The Philadelphia Water Department will be giving out bottled water to those impacted by the break.
