Woman critical after East Mount Airy stabbing, suspect in custody

EAST MOUNT AIRY (WPVI) -- A suspect is in police custody in connection with a stabbing that left a woman in critical condition in East Mount Airy.

The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. Friday inside an apartment located in the 6700 block of Musgrave Street.

Police said the woman, believed to be in her late teens, early 20s, was stabbed in the abdomen.

She was rushed to Einstein Medical Center. While en route, she was deemed a trauma alert with unstable vitals.

Police are investigating.
