Woman fights off sexual assault suspect in South Philadelphia

Authorities need your help tracking the suspect down before he strikes again.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have released new video of a man trying to sexually assault a woman on a South Philadelphia sidewalk.

The suspect walked up behind the 19-year-old female victim along the 1300 block of Wharton Street in the early morning hours of April 20th.

All of sudden, the suspect grabbed the woman from behind and try to pull her down.

The victim fought back against her attacker and during the struggle she sprayed him with mace.

The man then fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 37 years old, 5'7, 225 pounds, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
