Woman hurt jumping from burning home in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Fire officials tell Action News a woman is hospitalized in critical condition after jumping out of a burning home in North Philadelphia.

The fire broke out at 8:15 a.m. Monday in a 2-story home in the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor.

A woman jumped from a second floor window to escape the flames.

Medics took her to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Firefighters were able to place the blaze under control.

Investigators are working to determine what started the fire.
