Woman injured in bedroom fire in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A woman was injured when trying to escape a fire in a bedroom in Wilmington, Delaware.

The fire broke out around 10 a.m. on the 4400 block of North Market Street.

Firefighters arrived to smoke showing from a second floor bedroom.

The woman was taken to Wilmington Hospital for treatment.

She suffered lacerations to her arms after breaking a window to get out of the house.

The blaze was placed under control in less than twenty minutes.

Market Street is closed between Lea Boulevard and Edgemoor Road.

Motorists should avoid the area of the blaze.

So far, there is no word on what sparked the blaze.
