Woman stabbed in Juniata Park

JUNIATA PARK (WPVI) -- A 30-year-old woman was stabbed and wounded in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Thursday on the 4700 block of Whitaker Avenue.

Police say the woman was stabbed by someone she knew.

A witness told police they heard the victim screaming and yelling with a 21-year-old male.

They said the victim attempted to push the male away, but he allegedly knocked her down and stabbed her.

The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing.

The victim was rushed to the Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
