Woman struck and killed in Center City

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Center City.

The incident happened near the intersection of 15th and Locust streets 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say a 78-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in the crosswalk.

Medics transported the victim to Jefferson University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The striking vehicle remained on scene.
