February 14, 2017: Police say a woman was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Germantown. It happened at 9:30 a.m. on Armat Street near Germantown Avenue.

Surveillance video captured a driver in a red Chrysler fleeing from an accident at that intersection.

Police say that driver was in a rental car when her vehicle first hit an Impala near Hortter Street. Her vehicle then blew through the intersection at Armat, striking a 51-year-old woman in the crosswalk, and finally smashing into a Honda.

Medics took the pedestrian to Einstein Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition.

The accident victim in the Honda was longtime activist Shelly Yanoff.

"I was driving down Germantown Avenue. The light was mine, changed, and was mine. And a car jutted out from that street and just smashed right into me," said Yanoff.

The driver in the striking vehicle was arrested after she drove to the rental car office.
