Worker ID'd in fatal Gloucester City shipyard accident

GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police have identified the worker killed in an accident at a Gloucester City shipyard.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Clayton J. Benson of National Park.

The fatal accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Holt Logistics on the Delaware River at 701 N. King Street.

Police say the accident, involving a crane, occurred on board a ship that was being off-loaded at the pier.

They say Benson was working in the hull of the ship at the time of the accident.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gloucester City police continue to investigate.
