Young man chased and shot in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 19-year-old male was shot multiple times as he tried to run into his Northeast Philadelphia home.

It happened before 2 a.m. Thursday on the 1200 block of Bridge Street.

The victim was chased to the rear of his basement door, and then shot in the back.

November 10, 2016 - An 18-year-old male was shot multiple times as he tried to run into his Northeast Philadelphia home.

Officers found him lying in the doorway. The teen was rushed to Temple Hospital in critical condition.

There were also shell casings found near the scene that indicated the shooter opened fire before chasing the victim.

Police say robbery could be a motive.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video as they try to figure out who shot him and why.
