Nominate Your Papa
The Foundation for Breast and Prostate Health (FBPH), a world-renowned nonprofit promoting breast and prostate cancer education and prevention, is joining forces with Philadelphia Runner to bring a new element to this year's Gary Papa Father's Day Run for prostate cancer. In the month leading up to the annual event, Philadelphians will be able to nominate the exceptional men in their lives to be recognized on the day of the Run and win a day of VIP treatment at a local Philadelphia Runner store complete with breakfast, custom fittings and free running gear.
Family and friends who want to honor significant men in their lives are encouraged to nominate their loved ones by submitting three reasons why the nominee is a "phenomenal papa." Nominations should be sent to Maria.Gargano@fbph.com by Friday, June 5 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Judges will choose three finalists who will be featured on www.garypaparun.com. Public voting will open on the website on Monday, June 8 where visitors to the site can support their favorite papa and see his progress. The winning papa will be announced at the Gary Papa Run on Father's Day Sunday, June 21, 2015.
"The 'Nominate Your Papa' competition not only gets supporters excited for the upcoming Run, but also lets us honor our fathers, grandfathers, uncles, sons and friends who are critical to spreading awareness about men's health issues like prostate cancer," said FBPH executive director Colleen Daley. "We are beyond thrilled to partner with Philadelphia Runner on this fun and interactive way to highlight local men for the important role they play as father figures and mentors."

"We are extremely proud to work with FBPH to promote prostate cancer awareness and honor the men in our community."
Each year, the Gary Papa Run brings together thousands of families, prostate cancer survivors, and advocates on Father's Day to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer education and research. Named for local 6ABC sports anchor and men's health advocate Gary Papa who lost his battle with prostate cancer in 2009, the family-friendly event includes a 10k Run, 5k Run/Walk and a 1-mile Fun Walk.
