NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A suspect is in custody after being accused of robbing a woman inside her North Philadelphia home.

The home invasion happened around midnight Thursday on the 2500 block of North Bancroft Street.

Police say two masked men got through an open door and made their way upstairs to the second floor of the house.

They were confronted by a 37-year-old woman and demanded money from her.

During the incident, the woman's children began crying. One of the suspect's threatened the mother to quiet her kids.

He then accidentally shot himself in the leg.

Both suspects then ran off with $340 in cash.

A short time later, the 23-year-old suspect with the gunshot wound showed up at a hospital.

Police were notified and took the woman to the hospital, where she positively identified the man as the robber.

The second man is still being sought.

The woman and her children were not hurt.
