A fire spread through the upper floors and roof of a 3-story house in North Philadelphia.

A fire spread through the upper floors and roof of a 3-story house in North Philadelphia.



The blaze broke out around 1:50 a.m. Saturday at North 20th and Oxford streets.



Firefighters arrived and quickly went to work battling the thick smoke and flames.



One man in his thirties was taken to Hahnemann Hospital with smoke inhalation.



He is in stable condition.



The smoke and water also damaged two neighboring homes.



Fire crews took about an hour getting the flames under control.



The Red Cross is assisting four people with food, clothing and lodging.



The fire marshal is trying to determine what sparked the blaze.
