$12,000 ring stolen from Zales in Philadelphia Mills Mall

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Authorities say a $12,000 ring was stolen from a jewelry store at the busy Philadelphia Mills Mall in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 7:00 p.m. at the Zales store.

Police say a man entered the store, asked to look as the ring and then fled when the salesperson handed it to him.

No word if the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Police have not released a description of the suspect.

The Philadelphia Mills Mall was formally known as the Franklin Mills Mall.

The theft is under investigation.
