Opera in Philly reaches out to larger fan base

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Opera Philadelphia is coming up with a new way to attract a broader audience.

It is turning opening night into an opening festival starting in 2017.

Each September it will host a 12 day festival at multiple venues across the city.

Opera Philadelphia expects the 25 performances to attract tens of thousands of people.

Ticket information will be released next year.
