PENNDEL, Pa. -- A rug firm in suburban Philadelphia has created three specially designed carpets for the upcoming papal visit.

One piece created by the Langhorne Carpet Company will be rolled out for Pope Francis' airport arrival and departure in Philadelphia.

That red wool carpet measures 9 feet wide by 75 feet long. It features a gold border with a medallion design inspired by stained glass windows in the city's cathedral.

The other two carpets, which are green and gold, will be placed in the rectory at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. They use the same medallion motif.

All three carpets were woven on broad looms at the company in Penndel, about 20 miles north of Philadelphia.

Francis is visiting the city Sept. 26 and 27.
