CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Dozens gathered for a quiet vigil Saturday night at LOVE Park to show their support for France in the wake of attacks on Paris.

"I cried. I cried, and I didn't understand what happened. It's crazy," said Ann Goualiel of Manayunk.

"I love Paris. I've been there many times. It's a great place to go, and it just really sickens me that this happened," said Paul Jensen of South Philadelphia. "It's just really depressing."

Just below the LOVE sculptor, a French flag hung above candles in the shape of the Eiffel Tower within a peace symbol.

Guillaum Uters' parents lives in Paris. He spent the past day frantically calling family and friends to make sure they're OK. They are.

"I think it's the hardest part cause you feel useless. In this moment, you should be with the one you love, and it's hard," said Uters.

The Goualiel family moved from France to Manayunk a year ago. After two mass terror attacks in nine months, they're not sure about going back.

"I'm afraid to go in France ... it's a war," said Goualiel.
