A woman escaped a fire by climbing out of a second-story window onto a roof in the Parkside section of Philadelphia.

PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- A woman escaped a fire by climbing out of a second-story window onto a roof in the Parkside section of Philadelphia.



Flames broke out around 11:15 p.m. Monday on the 900 block of North Saint Bernard Street.



The fire started in the kitchen and then spread to the upper floor.



The woman walked along the roof line, and a neighbor then helped her inside.



She is being treated for smoke inhalation. She is in stable condition.



So far, no word on what sparked the blaze.
