PECO donates 600 fans to local seniors

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Hundreds of seniors now have relief from the heat thanks to a donation from PECO.

The power company donated 600 fans to local senior centers on Friday.

The donation comes just as summer officially begins this weekend.

20 PECO employee volunteers loaded up vehicles and distributed the fans across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia and York counties.

PECO representatives also provided the seniors with information on low-income programs and energy-saving tips for summer.

During the past decade, PECO has donated thousands of fans to seniors in the Greater Philadelphia region.
