Philadelphia police say a man was struck and killed by a SEPTA bus in Center City.

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police say a man was struck and killed by a SEPTA bus in Center City.



The accident happened around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 11th and Walnut Streets.



According to witnesses, the 40-year-old operator of the Route 23 was unaware that the bus hit someone and kept going.



The bus continued on its route until the driver was stopped by police at 11th and Vine Streets.



The operator did remain at the scene.



The unidentified victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.



A SEPTA supervisor and the AID arrived on the scene to gather more information on the accident.
