WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- A total of three West Chester University students were hit by a car on Monday, officials said.

It happened around 9 a.m. Monday on South University Drive.

Two university students were struck by a hit-and-run driver at a bus stop.

Police said the driver fled the scene but was arrested a short time later on High Street after crashing into a parked car and hitting a third university student. She was arrested at that location.

Investigators say she has mental health issues and was off her medication.

The injured students were taken to local hospitals. One has already been treated and released.

Students who catch the bus at that scene daily said the road is a dangerous speedway.

"The way people drive, especially on this road, is so hectic and so rushed that you kind of get fearful," said Mikhi Woods.

University police and West Goshen police are investigating.
