Woman shot and wounded in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say a woman was shot in the stomach in Chester, Delaware County.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of Tilghman Street.

Police arrived at the scene to find Lajia Shiree Evans on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound to her left shoulder.

Paramedics transported her to Crozer Chester Medical Center for treatment. She is listed in good condition.

Evans stated that she heard two gunshots coming from the area of 9th and Tilghman streets, but did not see anything.
