Iowa woman reunited with long lost cat

A woman was reunited 14 years later with her long lost cat.

Jill Petticord was just a little girl when her mom adopted the cat for her.

Three years later, Ralph the cat vanished.

A shelter called Petticord's call her mother about Ralph last week.

The family had implanted a micro chip in the cat, which helped the shelter locate the family.

Petticord says she recognized her cat immediately, and Ralph did the same, despite the long time apart.

She is now working on getting him healthy again.

"I am just glad that he gets to finish out his life with me, and not somewhere out on the streets. And I can make sure that he has a good ending to his life," said Petticord.

The shelter says Ralph spent those 14 years as a stray.
