A children's book author shares her happy ending story in The Adventures of Charli.

The Adventures of Charli is a children's book inspired by true stores, the author, Franca Caserta experienced since rescuing her dog in May 2014.

"I actually just had lost my dog a week before, and never thought I would be ready to adopt another dog or get another dog," said Franca.

The stories started as Facebook posts.

"Posts on Facebook of all the naughty things she would do getting dirty in the mud, eating my dining room chairs," added Franca.

The book includes illustrations and the real pictures that correspond with each adventure.

Franca says, "She really inspired me. If I can make one person laugh from her stories, or help one dog find a new family, I feel like the book will be a success."

20% of the book's proceeds are donated to the Ambrosia Foundation and the Almost Home Dog Rescue, which made the adoption possible.

Carolyn Powers is President of, Almost Home Dog Rescue.

She said, "I love the book, I love the pictures its real, it's really nice."

Many of the dogs from Almost Home, like Charli are rescued from the south.

"Our dogs go into foster homes and we get an idea of their personality their energy level l and everything else, and that we can match them with suitable adopters," said Carolyn.

The group makes nearly 500 adoptions a year, and each one leaves a mark.

"We love the after stories and how well the dogs are doing, that what really makes it all worthwhile," said Carolyn.

While Franca and Charli are the picture of success, there are several other dogs looking for forever families.
