VIDEO: Soldier reunited with service dog
Marine Corps handler David Herrera and his IED Detection Dog, Kash N060, were recently reunited for the first time since returning from Afghanistan in May 2011.

Marine Corps handler David Herrera from Corpus Christi, Texas and his IED Detection Dog, Kash N060, spent seven months in war together.

However, Herrera has not seen Kash since returning from Afghanistan in May 2011. Now, Kash is retired, partially blind and older, but despite all of this, Kash instantly recognized Herrera when they were recently reunited in Tucson, Arizona on June 8.

Herrera shared video of an excited Kash running around him, and said even though they hadn't seen each other since he returned in 2011, Kash "knew exactly who I was when he smelt my scent."
