ROXBOROUGH (WPVI) -- A slippery road is believed to have caused an accident in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia late Wednesday night.

Police say a driver was injured when he lost control of his car on Shawmont Avenue near Umbria just before midnight.

The car slid off the road and crashed into an embankment.

A passing tow truck driver noticed the head lights off the road and called police.

The truck driver eventually pulled the car out, and planned to come back to retrieve smaller, damaged parts.
