Downed wires cause smoke in Parkside homes

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Wires from utility poles came down Friday morning causing smoke to appear inside several homes in the Parkside of Philadelphia.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on 52nd Street near Girard Avenue.

One homeowner reported smoke coming from her power outlets.

PECO was called to the scene to make repairs.

It's not certain whether the rain is to blame for the incident.
