Officers commemorate 4 year anniversary of Sgt. Robert Wilson's death

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Family and friends will gather at Philadelphia's 22nd district police to honor a fallen officer, who was killed four years ago Tuesday.

Sergeant Robert Wilson III was gunned down four years ago inside a Game Stop on March 5, 2015.

Top brass, family and friends gathered at the 22nd District to honor the memory of the fallen hero.

Sergeant Wilson walked in on a robbery and got into a shootout with two suspects.

Tuesday his sister talked about how hard it is not to have her brother here anymore.

"He gave his life for what he signed up to do. For every other victim of gun violence in this city, it's appalling, it's disgusting. I'm tired of it. These victims' families are tired and I'm sure these officers are tired of getting these calls for gun violence," she said.

The celebration started with a prayer and ended with the release of white balloons on the steps of the 22nd District where Wilson served.

Sergeant Wilson's killers entered plea deals last year and are now serving life in prison.
