Thousands pay tribute to life Gerry Lenfest at the Academy of Music

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Harold FitzGerald "Gerry" Lenfest passed away back in August at age 88.

Many prominent Philadelphians paid tribute to the legendary philanthropist Wednesday with a ceremony of fond remembrances about the billionaire cable TV pioneer, who gave much of his money and spiritual values to his beloved city and much of the nation.

6abc's Vernon Odom was at the Academy of Music for the celebration.
