Philadelphia police officer charged with robbery

BRISTOL TWP, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer is off the streets following an arrest in Bucks County.

Investigators with Bristol Township police say Officer Michael Winkler robbed two men whom he had hired to do work at one of his properties.

The incident happened back on May 5th and Winkler was arrested on Friday.

He has been charged with Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and related offenses.

The 16-year veteran of the force was allegedly on-duty during the incident and has been suspended with the intent to dismiss.
