Philadelphia Police Officers were honored for their Valor, Bravery, and Heroism

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police Officers were honored for their Valor, Bravery, and Heroism Wednesday.

Including an officer who was ambushed by a gunman earlier this year.

Officer Jesse Hartnett received the Sergeant Robert Wilson III Valor Award for continuing to perform his duties even after being shot and badly wounded,.

Hartnett was able to return fire on a gunman who said he was acting in the name of Islam.

Dozens of other officers also received awards.

Congratulations to all of them.
