SEPTA smartphone app gets an update

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- SEPTA just became a lot more user-friendly with a smartphone app update.

The free SEPTA app key now gives you options to purchase fares, check account balances, and view your trip history.

It provides real-time travel schedules so you know if buses or trains are running late.

Passholders can also check to see how many trips are remaining on their weekly, monthly, or one-day pass.
