Crash damages building in Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia

STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- A serious crash damaged a building in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia.

Two cars collided at 27th Street and Lehigh Avenue Thursday night.

The impact sent one vehicle careening into a corner store.

The driver bailed out and ran away. Police spent at least an hour looking for that driver.

The Action Cam was on the scene when they removed a man from a nearby building before putting him in a squad car. He was eventually taken to the hospital.

The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries.

City inspectors were called to the scene to assess damage to the building.
