WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- The mother of a man who was shot and killed by Wilmington Police last week has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman who she thought called police to the scene of the fatal shooting.

Police tell Action News 48-year-old Phyllis McDole has been charged with assaulting a woman she thought placed the 911 call about her son that brought officers to the scene in the first place.

Wilmington officers say they fatally shot 28-year-old son Jeremy McDole last Wednesday after he ignored repeated commands to drop his weapon and reached toward his waist.

Phyllis McDole was arrested Friday after police say she went to the woman's house with five other people and beat her up, leaving the victim with two black eyes, a cut lip and scratches.

Police say the victim was not even the 911 caller.

Phyllis turned herself in Monday on charges of assault, terroristic threatening, burglary and conspiracy.

She was released on $10,000 bond.
